We want to cooperate with the devil. The old Adam(that is still with us believers) likes to sin...does not want to stop sinning! We are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves...we want to stay bound!
But Christ frees us! And He continues to free us by His law and gospel until that day comes when we are laid into the grave for the last time... and He raises us up for the last time.
